BASIC NETWORKING CONCEPTS

       1. COMPUTER NETWORK

It is simply a group of interconnected computers.

Two or more computers are connected via hardware or software, and able to communicate with each other.

The computers of a network may be located nearby to each other or at different geographic locations.

Example of a computer network:

–the Internet, ATM, school network, e-banking, home network, etc.

       2. ADVANTAGES OF USING A COMPUTER   NETWORK

–Hardware (computing resources, disks, printers)

–Software (application software)

2. Information Sharing

–Easy accessibility from anywhere (files, databases)

–Search Capability (WWW)

3. Promote Communication and collaboration

–Email

–Message broadcast

Major components of a computer network :

–Communication Media

–Interconnecting Devices

–Computers

–Networking Software

–Applications

 

 4. BASIC NETWORKING CONCEPTS

 

Every computer network functions when having these three concepts:

1.Topology

  – the physical layout of the network

2.Protocol

  – the rules in data communication

3.Architecture

  – how the hardware and software are integrated to form a working.

 

 

 

 NEWS FROM AIU

 

           SO FAR EVERYTHING GOING WELL AND I'M STUDYING VERY HARD TO ACHIEVE BETTER MARKS. RECENTLY, WE CELEBRATED EID AND IT WAS MY FIRST TIME TO CELEBRATE THIS BIG CELEBRATION FAR FROM HOME. SO I WAS A VIP PERSON TO ATTEND THE FEAST WHICH TOOK PLACE IN A NEW MALL NEAR PACIFIC HYPERMARKET. I REALLY ENJOYED THE FEAST AND I THANKED MR SYED FOR HIS GENEROSITY.

          MOREOVER, THESE DAYS I HAVE A LOT ASSIGNMENTS TO DO AND I'M WORKING IN MANY GROUPS TO PRESENT THE ASSIGNMENTS SO I HAVE MADE A LOT OF NEW FRIENDS WHO COME FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD. IN ADDITION, THE STUDENTS WHO I WORK WITH WANTED TO ME BE THE LEADER SO DIDN'T REFUSE THIS VERY GOOD BECAUSE I WANT TO BE A MANAGER IN THE FUTURE SO I MUST KNOW HOW TO LEAD PEOPLE TO GET THE JOB DONE.

          FINALLY, THAT'S ALL FOR NOW BUT I'LL POST OTHER INTERESTING NEWS OF MY LIFE IN AIU SOON. SO GOODBYE AND TAKE CARE!!!
